Silent Auction: We are currently auctioning off a beautiful hand-knit sweater as a fund-raiser for the Friends of the Library. You can view the sweater and make a bid at the library before 5pm on February 26.


Armchair Travel: Dr. Howard Fredeen will be giving this month's lecture called Canoeing the Great North. Join Dr. Fredeen as he shares his canoeing adventures along the river highway from the mountains of Jasper to the Arctic Ocean. The lecture will take place at 7pm on February 9th in the Community Savings Room of the LMC. Please pre-register at the library for your free lecture ticket.


We will be hosting the Alberta's Centre for Family Literacy C.O.W. bus in the parking lot of the LMC on February 17 from 1-3:30pm. Bring the kids and participate in fun literacy activities such as stories, puppet plays, and songs. No registration required.


The Friends of the Library has community cookbooks for sale at the library. Pick up a copy for yourself or as a gift for only $10. All proceeds go to The Friends.


Library Book Club: We are currently reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See and will be meeting 7pm on February 2 for the discussion.  The club is still open to new members and to anyone just wanting to drop in. Our next book will be Loving Frank by Nancy Horan ; discussion on March 2. Please phone or email in advance if you would like to join us for either discussion. Knitting Club: There are two knitting clubs at the library. The Creative Knitters group will be meeting every Wednesday at 2pm in the History Room; the Whimsical Wooly Whatnots are meeting weekly at 7pm on Thursdays. These clubs are for all skill levels and are open to anyone interested. For more information- please contact Beverley at the library (403-782-3433).

Adopt-a-magazine!  Mary C. Moore Public Library invites business owners, organizations, and individuals to give back to the community by adopting a magazine at the library. Sponsoring a magazine subscription (for $60) allows the library to improve and maintain our collection. If interested– contact Connie or Christina at the library (782-3433).
