Events Children's Programs: Registration for this year's program starts this week; the program will run from the week of July 6 to the week of August 21. The complete schedule is available here. Reel Alternatives: Our Spring 2009 season concluded last night with our screening of Stone of Destiny. Thank you to everyone who attended this film and our other Spring 09 films. We will not be showing any films in July or August. We will be deciding on our Fall 2009 lineup very soon and will keep you posted on which films will be coming. Check out the Reel Alternatives home page for the latest information. Library Book Club: The next book on our list is The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway- with our discussion scheduled for 7pm on July 7th. The club is still open to new members and to anyone wanting to drop in for this particular discussion. Please phone or email in advance if you would like to join us. Phone: 403-782-3433; email: miranda.cl@libs.prl.ab.ca. Card-making workshops: Our summer workshops are scheduled for July 11 and August 22, from 10am until 1pm on each day. The attendance fee is $8 per person (5 cards). Register ASAP as these workshops fill up very quickly! We will be offering computer-based tutorials throughout July. If you would like to learn how to navigate the internet, use a search engine, or set up and use and email account- then be sure to register for one of these tutorials (offered once a week). Internet for Beginners will be offered Tuesdays 3:00-4:30pm (starting July 7) and Email Basics will be offered Thursdays 3:00-4:30pm (starting on July 2). Please pre-register in person, by phone (403-782-3433), or email (miranda.cl@libs.prl.ab.ca). Knitting Club: Two new clubs are starting up at the library. The Creative Knitters group will be meeting every Wednesday at 2pm in the History Room; the Whimsical Wooly Whatnots are meeting weekly at 7pm on Thursdays. These clubs are for all skill levels and are open to anyone interested. For more information- please contact Beverley at the library (403-782-3433). Looking for a good book?
